STCW Basic Safety Training Revalidation
Resolve Academy’s Basic Safety Training Revalidation Course allows students to demonstrate the skills needed to revalidate their STCW Certification as amended in 2010. Through this course, students continue enhancing their basic safety training knowledge. Through this course, students learn to prevent accidents, injuries, and harm to our environment. Students learn to function safely and harmoniously in the chain of command; and in case of a fire emergency, react in the correct manner.
Students MUST show a valid STCW 2010 certification within the last 5 years, and have maintained at least 1 year (360 days) sea service with continuing training during the sea service period. To pass this course, students must be present and complete all practical exercises. The STCW revalidation components that will be covered in this course are:
- Basic Fire Fighting (STCW 2010)
- Personal Survival Techniques (STCW 2010)
STCW standards:
- STCW Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(d)(2), and 46 CFR 12.602(d)(2)
- STCW as amended 2010, Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(d) and 46 CFR 12.602(d)(1)
A mariner who successfully completes the course will satisfy the continuing competency requirements for Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting in STCW Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(d) and 46 CFR 12.602(d), provided that they have at least 1 year of sea service in the last 5 years.
