FREE 4-HOUR COVID19 AWARENESS TRAINING PROGRAM

As Charters and Sailings return to service, provide your owners, guests, and companies with the comfort of enhanced safety protocols by displaying your COVID19 Awareness Certification from  Nova Southeastern.  This FREE 4-Hour Virtual course is designed for Captains, Crew, and anyone involved in the Maritime Industry. The course is delivered via an online module (allows for attendance from your vessel or from home) incorporating social distancing, while you become certified in CDC/US Government recommended COVID19 protection, mitigation, and response guidelines.

Certificate awarded upon completion of the course.

In this class you will learn*:

  • COVID-19 Basics
  • Assessing the potential for exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace COVID-19 prevention methods in the workplace
  • Protecting the worker in the workplace
  • Learn from a live instructor via Zoom (Invitation Will Be Provided Prior to Training Session)

Free 8-Hour HAZWOPER Awareness/Revalidation Training

NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY’S INSTITUTE FOR DISASTER AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS HAZWOPER REVALIDATION TRAINING WITH CERTIFICATE AWARDED UPON COMPLETION OF THIS 8-HOUR COURSE:

  • Learn how to recognize, react, and protect yourself from chemical hazards in the workplace
  • Virtual training requires access to a webcam & microphone
  • The course satisfies refresher requirements
  • Certificate awarded upon completion of course
  • Approved by the National Educational Institute of NCBFAA,
  • Earn up to 7 continuing education/contact hours  (CCS/CES/MES)
  • Satisfies OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(i), 49 CFR 172.700(c) and 172.704(a)(5)(b), and EPA 40 CFR (311.1).

  • July 12 and 13, 2021, (8 hours), 1pm – 5pm EST

Free OSHA 10-Hour Maritime Training for Shipyard Employment 

This training program is intended to provide entry-level safety and health hazard information tailored specifically to marine shipyard employees.

  • Provides for employees, supervisors, and managers, the skills to recognize, avoid, control, abate, and prevent injuries and accidents in the maritime environment.
  • Informs workers about their rights and their employer’s responsibilities and explains how to file a complaint with OSHA.
  • Educates workers on a variety of safety topics that workers may encounter at a maritime site.

Topics

  • 1915 Subpart A (General Provisions) and 1915 Subpart F(General Working Conditions).
  • Walking and Working Surfaces, Including Fall Protection.
  • Personal Protective Equipment(PPE)
  • Electrical and “LockOut/Tag Out”.
  • 1915 Subpart P (Fire Protection) and 1915 Subpart B (Confined Space).
  • Hot Work and Hazard Communications.

Upon successful completion, an OSHA 10-hour wallet certificate will be issued.

Online Classes (Via Zoom):

  • July 28 & 29, 2021 9am – 3pm EST
  • Aug 25 & 26th 12pm – 6pm EST

Each Participant must Attend both days to Receive Certificate

Online classes will be scheduled in Zoom platform
