The MCA Advanced Firefighting Updating course will cover the required proficiencies under the STCW 2010 standards and MCA regulations. This training program is designed to equip experienced maritime professionals with the latest knowledge and skills in firefighting techniques and is aimed at individuals who have already completed the Basic Advanced Firefighting course. This course provides participants with up-to-date industry standards and regulations related to fire safety and response at sea.
Learning Objectives
This 4-hour course is for mariners working in the maritime industry. Participants must have a current Advanced Firefighting certification. The course provides the necessary skills check to meet the STCW code, table A-VI/3 and satisfies the MCA requirement. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certification that verifies their compliance with the latest firefighting standards. This certification also equips participants’ for handling complex fire-related emergencies on board ships.
Entry Standards
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to develop a realistic shipboard fire prevention program, effectively organize fire teams and respond to fires aboard their ship and have an understanding of the effects of firefighting water on their vessel.
