The USCG Advance Firefighting Revalidation course actively covers the proficiency requirements outlined in the STCW 2010 standards and USCG regulations. Target Audience
Mariners currently employed in the maritime industry and holding their advanced firefighting certification can actively participate in the revalidation course. This course equips individuals with the essential skills required to meet the standards outlined in the STCW code, specifically table A-VI/3. Moreover, this course fulfills the license upgrade and renewal requirements as specified by the USCG (46 CFR Part 10). By enrolling in this course, mariners can enhance their proficiency in firefighting and ensure compliance with industry regulations, while also maintaining the validity of their licenses.
Learning Objectives
After successfully completing this course, students possess the ability to efficiently organize fire teams and promptly respond to fires onboard a ship. They will be equipped with the knowledge to identify the components of fixed fire suppressions and effectively utilize them. Additionally, students will gain the necessary skills to complete the required incident report accurately. This comprehensive training empowers individuals to take swift and appropriate action during fire emergencies, ensuring the safety and security of the ship and its crew.

Entry Standards
This course is exclusively available to mariners who have already obtained an Advanced Firefighting certification. In addition, students will be required to sign a declaration form confirming their completion of the necessary onboard continuing training, demonstrating a minimum of 1 year of sea time (360 days) within the past 5 years.
Upon successful completion of the course, mariners fulfill the revalidation requirements for Advanced Fire Fighting training as outlined in STCW Code Section A-VI/3 and 46 CFR 11.201(h)(1) and 11.303(d). This is contingent upon the mariner having accumulated at least 1 year of sea service within the previous 5 years. By meeting these criteria, mariners can maintain their proficiency in advanced firefighting and remain compliant with industry regulations.
