Basic Firefighting Revalidation
The Basic Firefighting Revalidation course will cover the requirements in accordance with the following standards:
- 46 CFR 10
- STCW 10 Table A-VI/1-2
Target Audience
This course is open persons that already have their STCW 2010 certification and want to revalidate their certification.
Learning Objectives
This course will allow the students to demonstrate the skills needed to revalidate their STCW Certification and continue to be able to prevent accidents, injuries, and harm to our environment; function safely and harmoniously in the chain of command; and in case of a fire emergency, react in the correct manner.
Students wishing to take this course must show a valid STCW certification within the last 5 years and have maintained at least 1-year (360 days) sea service with continuing training during the sea service period. The student should be in reasonably good physical condition.
*A mariner who successfully completes the course will satisfy the continued competency requirements for Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting in STCW Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(d)(2), and 46 CFR 12.602(d)(2), provided that they have at least 1 year of sea service in the last 5 years.
